KRSL 990 AM and 95.9 FM place a heavy emphasis on covering LOCAL events, news, sports and weather. If it's going on in Russell, it's on Russell Radio.
KRSL 95.9 FM (Classic Hits): began broadcasting in 1965 and uses 1500 watts to cover nine counties in a 30-mile radius.
KRSL 990 AM (Classic Country): established in 1956 and broadcasts with 250 watts of power to more than 20 counties in a 60-mile radius during the daytime.
Local Shows: morning show featuring local guests, news, sports, events and music. The very popular Polka Party on KRSL 990 AM features German and Czech Polkas along with local polka bands.
News: five local news updates a day plus statewide news from the Kansas Information Network and national news from the Associated Press.
Sports: coverage of Russell High School football, basketball, baseball and softball, Kansas State Wildcats football and basketball and Kansas City Royals baseball.
Weather: in addition to local updates at the bottom of each hour, KRSL also prides itself in severe weather coverage. KRSL gives continuous updates from the National Weather Service and local law enforcement.
