Vehicle Theft Reported at Wilson Lake

Stolen VehicleA vehicle theft was reported over the weekend at Wilson Lake.

According to dispatch logs, at 9:23 PM Saturday, Russell Dispatch received a 911 call from Gina Mansel at Hell Creek Cabins at Wilson Lake reporting a man named Saul took her vehicle without her permission.

The vehicle was a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee with black wheels with Kansas license plate 331 EWL registered to Gina Mansel of Nickerson.

Russell County Sheriff's Office units, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks Officers, and US Army Corps of Engineers Officers responded.

One of the officers advised he had the vehicle stopped at Stop 2 Shop in Wilson, but then advised the vehicle took off southbound on the Wilson blacktop.

A pursuit and search ensued.

Responding units lost sight of the vehicle in Ellsworth County.

It was determined the suspect was Saul Miller of Ellinwood and the vehicle was originally stolen out of Lincoln County.
