RHS Homecoming Theme Announced

Russell Champion MascottRussell High School's 2019 Homecoming is September 23 through 27.

The Homecoming theme is Celebrating the Decades. The seniors chose the 80s, the juniors chose the 70s, the sophomores chose the 50s and the freshmen chose the 60s.

The dress-up days for the week are Pajama Day on Monday, Decades Dress on Tuesday, VSCO Day on Wednesday, Country vs. Country Club on Thursday, and the Traditional Red and Blue Day on Friday.

The Powderpuff Football Game for high school girls will be on Monday, September 23 at 7:30 PM after the junior varsity football game.

The boys will be having their own powderpuff game on the volleyball courts. A tournament will be held on Tuesday night starting after the girls volleyball match with Republic County at around 8 PM.

On Thursday night at around 8:30, RHS will host the Bonfire in the east parking lot of the football field. Come out and watch the blaze, dance to some music and get fired up for the game. Then head down to Main Street to show your pride and drag the streets with Broncos.

At 1:15 PM on Friday, September 27, there will be a Homecoming Pep Rally with class competitions and royalty games at the high school. At 2 PM, RHS will dismiss to organize for the parade at 2:30, which will proceed to 9th and Main and then proceed down to Main and Artesia Street. A Community Pep Rally will take place on the Courthouse lawn.

Coronation will take place Friday at 6:30 PM at Shaffer Field before the football game with Concordia.

The Homecoming Dance will be held in the rock garden this year at RHS.
