Shop Small, Make a Big Difference is the Message of Plaid on the Plains

Plaid on the PlainsRussell Mayor Curt Mader signed a proclamation Tuesday recognizing November 29 through December 1, 2019 as Plaid on the Plains to encourage all Russell residents to shop locally owned businesses during the holiday season and all year round.

According to the proclamation, purchasing holiday gifts and shopping year round with locally owned businesses supports the economic health and resilience of the community.

Shopping locally supports our neighbors, friends and family members employed by local businesses.

Residents of Russell are fortunate to have diverse shopping options, including unique local shops, said the proclamation.

Plaid Friday strives to bring back the days when shopping with friends and family during the holiday season was a pleasurable and leisurely activity.

Small Business Saturday celebrates and supports small businesses and all they do for Russell.

Sunday Funday promotes a variety of activities for kids of all ages.
