RHS Prom Fundraising in Full Swing

FlockingThe Junior class at Russell High School has begun fundraising for the 2013 Prom, and this year, folks have several ways to get involved and support the classes efforts.

T-shirts are available to buy and students will once again be selling telephone books, but this year, as Junior Gage Nichols explains, the class will be using a new fundraiser called flocking.

"We have 24 pink flamingos, and there's sheets at different businesses - which include Sunflower Bank, United National Bank, Wilson State Bank, UMB, Town and Country Animal Hospital, and then also at the high school in the main office - and you fill it out, it's 10 bucks, and you get to pick anybody in the community," said Nichols. "Then, the Junior class at 5 o'clock in the morning will be out there and we'll deliver the 24 flamingos and put them in the persons yard with a sign that says 'You've Been Flocked'."

Nichols also said for the person that has been flocked to find out who paid to have it done to them, they will then have to pay $5. If they don't pay, it remains a secret.
