The team, comprised of RHS students Lane Mai, Payton Stoppel, Jordan Moubry and Clayton Moubry (pictured from left to right with Strnad at far right) have earned numerous awards in 2012, including first place at the Kansas State Livestock Evaluation Competition as well as third place at the Indiana Stockman Contest. However, most notably and most recently, the team finished in fourth place at the National FFA Convention's Livestock Evaluation Competition in Indianapolis, Indiana.
"That was the first team, we think, that has won a state competition and has gotten to go on to nationals, from everything that we can find," Strnad said. "And then to come away fourth out of, what I could count, 46 teams from other states that competed; we were very proud, honored and happy of the outcome."
With this success, Strnad hopes each member will continue their livestock judging at the next level after they graduate from RHS.Read More Local News
