Russell Emergency Snow Routes

Interim City Manager Jon Quinday details which Russell streets are designated snow routes and what that means for citizens who live on or near those streets.
"We have several streets that are designated as Emergency Snow Routes, and those are North Copeland, Lincoln Street, 15th Street, 9th Street by the fire department, Wisconsin Street, Jewell Street in front of the hospital and South Ash Street," said Quinday. "If snow's expected or we're going to get quite a bit and they think the crews will be out plowing the streets, we just ask them (people living on snow routes) to voluntarily keep their cars off the street - it makes the snow plowing go much easier."
Crews will clear all snow routes first, as well as Highways 40 and 281, in a snow event, then residential areas, and finally the business district.
