Record Warmth Felt Across Kansas Monday

ThermometerAt least a half dozen cities in Kansas reported record highs on Monday.

The Russell airport recorded a high of 76 degrees, breaking the old record of 72 set in 1950.

Topeka was the hot spot in the state.  The capital city hit 77 degrees and broke its previous record of 67 set in 1917.

Much colder air and rain and snow are in the forecast for Tuesday for the Russell area.
