Weimaster Named Russell Police Chief

Russell Police Captain Dale WeimasterDale Weimaster has been selected as the Chief of Police for the City of Russell with his appointment being effective March 1, 2013.

Weimaster has worked for the City of Russell since 1994, starting as a patrolman. He has served as Senior Patrolman and Master Patrolman before being promoted to Police Captain in 2009.

Weimaster is a life-long resident of Russell where he and his wife, Joan, raised their two children, Bryan (Hays, KS) and Jennifer (St. Joseph, MO).

Weimaster has participated in the Russell County Leadership Program, and has attended the Kansas Police Administrator's School, FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association's Leadership and Management training, and Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center's Advanced Supervision and Management course. He currently serves on the Russell County Emergency Communications Advisory Board and the Local Emergency Planning Commission.

According to City Manager Jon Quinday's office, Weimaster will take the Oath of Office at 2:00 PM, on March 1, 2013 in the Council Chambers at the City Building. The public is invited to attend.
