Burglary, Theft Occurs at Wilson Lake Wildlife and Parks Building

A burglary and theft involving more than $1000 worth of equipment and vehicles from a Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks office and shop building in Wilson State Park was reported to authorities Wednesday.
The Russell County Sheriff's Office received the report at just ahead of 11 o'clock Wednesday morning of a break-in to the office and shop located at 192nd and Dam Road on the west end of Wilson Lake. The break-in is believed to have taken place sometime overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning, but a certain time frame of the crime is still under investigation.
According to the Sheriff's Office, major items taken in the theft were an ATV, a UTV, a car hauler and unleaded fuel. The stolen UTV is a black 2012 John Deere XUV 825i, the stolen ATV is a gray 2002 Polaris Magnum 500 and the stolen car hauler is a 2009 PJ flat bed trailer with a black frame and wooden floor.
