Local Artists Featured in Signature Auction

SHPTV Signature AuctionArtists from across Kansas, including Russell's Jaclyn Burton, Shelley Oden and Brian Steinert; Lucas' Eric Abraham; Natoma's Larry Pfortmiller; Larry Morill of Paradise; and Wilson's Kevin Lundy and Gordon Mai, have donated their work to the 2013 Smoky Hills Public Television Signature Auction.

The auction is SHPTV's largest and most popular fundraiser. The funds raised help support the programming and services provided to central and western Kansas through local public television.

The items, which include paintings, sculptures, jewelry and mixed media, are on display at the Deines Cultural Center in Russell until April 17, with a gallery reception to be held on April 14 from 2 to 4 PM.

The auction will be aired live on Smoky Hills Public Television on April 20 and 21 from 7 to 10 PM. Visit the station's website, www.smokyhillstv.org, to view all 100 pieces and to learn how to vote for the "People's Choice Award," which will be announced during the auction.
