One Woman Injured Saturday in Three Vehicle Crash in Russell

4-20 Front St CrashA woman was taken to Russell Regional Hospital with injuries late Saturday morning after being involved in a three vehicle crash on North Front Street in Russell.

According to the Russell Police Department, Sydney Caitlan Ostrom of Russell was transported by Russell County EMS ambulance to the hospital after colliding with two other vehicles at 2nd and Front Streets at just after 11:30 AM on Saturday.

The three vehicles involved in the crash were a 2003 Buick Century owned and operated by Ostrom, a 2005 Suzuki Forenza owned and operated by Randyll Jacqueline Smith of Dodge City, and a 2007 Ford Focus owned by Linda O'Neal of Russell, which was legally parked and unattended.

The police report says Ostrom was exiting the alley north of 3rd Street onto Front Street and was struck by Smith, who was northbound on Front. Ostrom then continued southbound and struck the O'Neal vehicle and a utility pole at 2nd and Front.4-20 Front St Crash 2

Smith was not injured and Ostrom's condition is unknown.

Along with the Russell PD and Russell County EMS, two Russell County Sheriff's Deputies, the Russell City Fire Rescue Unit and one Kansas Highway Patrolman also responded.
