Three AD Candidates Interviewed by USD 407 BOE

USD 407 BOEThe USD 407 Board of Education met Monday evening in special session to begin the interview process to find a new district Activities and Athletics Director.

The Board interviewed three candidates and will meet again on Friday, April 26 to interview at least two more prospects.

Matt Cook, Karl Hamm and Matt Renk were the men the Board talked to Monday. Cook, a Russell native, is a current student at Fort Hays State University; Hamm is a former principal and junior high athletic director from Waverly; and Renk is a current teacher and former coach at Salina South High School.

The Board met in executive session for four hours to conduct the three interviews. No action was taken.

Executive sessions for staffing were also held with a few retirements, resignations and new contracts being announced and approved after the executive sessions concluded.

Stan Noller, Ruppenthal Middle School Head Custodian, will retire after this school year and Laura Thomas, Special Education Secretary at the Central Administration Office, will resign.

New contracts were approved for Matthew Brown as the Industrial Technology Teacher at RMS and Janna Montgomery as the Vocal Music Instructor for RMS and Russell High School. A part-time contract was also approved for Tally Hickman as Music Instructor at Simpson Elementary School.
