Record Highs Set Monday, Tuesday

ThermometerRecord high temperatures were set Monday, May 13 and Tuesday, May 14 in Russell just mere weeks after record lows and measurable snow affected the area in late April.

According to the National Weather Service, Russell's high of 90 degrees on Monday topped the previous record of 89 set in 1988. Tuesday's scorching 97 degrees beat the previous record of 92 for that date also set in 1988.

Nearby Hill City hit 100 degrees Tuesday.

Warm temperatures are forecasted to subside later this week and into the weekend with rain chances increasing by the weekend as well.
