Saturday Rollover Near Wilson Injures Colorado Man, Woman

Rollover AccidentA rollover wreck on Interstate 70 near the Wilson exit Saturday morning injured a man and a woman from Colorado.

The driver, 22-year-old Amber Nicole Vasey of Frederick, Colorado, was seriously injured in the crash and was transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. 24-year-old George Christopher Gilbert, a passenger in the vehicle and also of Frederick, was injured and taken to Ellsworth Medical Center. Their current condition is unknown.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the rollover happened at 9:45 Saturday morning at eastbound I-70 mile marker 207 or about one mile east of the Wilson exit.

The KHP crash report says Vasey was traveling eastbound on I-70 when the 2003 Toyota Tacoma pickup drifted off the left side of the roadway into the median. She then over-corrected, first to the right, and then back to the left, causing the pickup to roll. Vasey was trapped in the vehicle and was extricated by the Wilson Fire Department.

Both occupants were buckled up.
