Routine Traffic Stops Lead to Two Drug Arrests

Drug ArrestTwo routine and separate traffic stops by Russell County Sheriff's Deputies on Monday resulted in two drug related arrests.

According to a recent law enforcement report, the first occurred at 3:50 PM on 203rd just south of Highway 232 with a 2000 Nissan driven by Nichalas Miller of Wichita. Miller was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana and was transported to the Russell County Jail.

The second and unrelated arrest, according to local law enforcement, happened at about 8 PM in the 200 Block of East 12th Street in Russell with a 1996 Chevy Van driven by Daniel Brand of Russell. Brand was placed under arrest for driving on a revoked driver's license, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the jail as well.
