Saturday Morning Rollover Injures Three

Rollover AccidentAn early Saturday morning rollover wreck east of Ellsworth on Kansas Highway 140 injured three people - two from Russell and one from Hays.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 22-year-old Xavier Lucas McCulloch of Russell, 25-year-old Cody James Casper of Hays and 24-year-old Audra Rae Griffin of Russell were injured and transported to hospitals following the crash. Casper and Griffin were both taken to Salina Regional Health Center, while McCulloch was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

The driver of the vehicle, 24-year-old Jonathan S. Berens of Russell, was not injured.

The KHP says the crash happened at just after 1 AM Saturday on K-140 about 13 miles east of Ellsworth.

The crash report states Berens was westbound in a 2004 Saturn Vue when he left the roadway on the north side. The vehicle then came back onto the roadway and crossed the center line, leaving the road again, but this time on the south side. The vehicle then came back onto the roadway and rolled into the north ditch.

None of the occupants were buckled up.
