Longtime SHPTV Employee Retires

Smoky Hills Public TelevisionAfter 24 years at Smoky Hills Public Television, Mary Pat Waymaster will retire at the end of October.

Waymaster began on July 3, 1989 as traffic director. She transitioned to director of content in 1996.

Over those years Waymaster has witnessed many changes at Smoky Hills Public Television, including the addition of KDCK and KWKS and the conversion to digital broadcasting.

"From the Director of Content position to all the little things that Mary Pat does for the station that we take for granted, it will not be the same around the station without her," said Michael Quade, General Manager and CEO. "She will be missed, however we wish her the best of luck and safe travels."

Waymaster plans to travel with her husband Lance, spend more time with her family and volunteer at station events. She says she has been a part of many anniversary celebrations at Smoky Hills Public Television and she "hopes to see the station continue to grow and prosper in the future."

Taking over as director of content will be Glenna Letsch, who previously served as traffic director. Letsch has been employed by SHPTV since 1998. Jarrod Brantley will be the new traffic director. Brantley started at SHPTV in July as a corporate support representative.
