Russell McDonald's to Get New Look

New Russell McDonaldsThe iconic Golden Arches located at 1435 S. Fossil in Russell will be receiving a fresh and modern look...inside and out.

The exterior of the new restaurant design departs from the traditional double mansard roof building which has been the McDonald's trademark look since 1968. The new design is a contemporary building that draws its primary form from the arcade, a traditional architectural element that defines the front of the McDonald's restaurant and main entry.

"At McDonald's our mission is to become customers' favorite place and way to eat and drink. We strive to infuse a 'Forever Young' spirit in all that we do," said Gail Kuehl, owner of the Russell McDonald's. "The new restaurant will give our customers a great place to meet, relax and enjoy a good quality meal. Thank you to our Russell family for their continued support over the years. We look forward to providing an even better customer service experience in the very near future."

The interior design features natural finishes in the lobby, zoned seating areas with a variety of seating types and comfortable configurations, lower lighting levels in the dining area utilizing recessed can lights and pendant fixtures which enhance the restaurant dining experience.

If customers are in a hurry and can't stop inside for their favorite McDonald's meal, the restaurant's drive thru will have a two lane ordering system. This will make placing and picking up orders faster and easier than ever as will expanded parking and improved handicapped accessibility.

"We are changing with the times – and never stop looking for ways to improve," said Jamie Kuehl, Director of Operations. "Our new McDonald's speaks to the needs of our customers and our community. We want our customers to enjoy every part of the McDonald's experience."

During the restaurant's total transformation, the lobby and drive thru may close for brief periods of time. Additional information regarding the grand re-opening will be announced in the coming weeks.

"What a way to finish our 30th year in Russell!" added Rick Kuehl who, along with Gail, owns McDonald's of Russell. "We are excited about the changes and hope that people in the community enjoy it too. It will be a great place to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee, surf the internet or meet up with friends or family."
