As several school districts across the state continue to enact 1-to-1 ratio technology initiatives, where students are issued tablets or laptops to use for school work and research, USD 407 Superintendent Dave Couch says its time Russell seriously thinks about putting such a program into place.
The Board gave Couch approval on Monday to begin researching costs and other important factors about enacting such an initiative.
Also discussed and approved at the meeting: the replacement of the walk-in freezer at Russell High School. Couch says the freezer was installed in the 1960s.
Other approved agenda items included continuation of the German student exchange program at RHS and a fundraising campaign led by art teacher Tranda Strnad that will raise money for local charities.
