Local Band Inducted into Kansas Music Hall of Fame

Kansas Music Hall of FameJimmy Dee and the Fabulous Destinations have been named 2014 Kansas Music Hall of Fame inductees.

The Victoria native band, along with the other 2014 inductees (listed below), will be honored March 1, 2014 at Liberty Hall in Lawrence.

Doors for the ceremony and concert will open at 6:30 PM and the show will start at 7. Tickets are on sale from the Liberty Hall box office (785-749-1972), Ticketmaster outlets and www.ticketmaster.com. All tickets are general admission and cost $30 each. Liberty Hall is unable to accept credit card payments.

The band, led by longtime Russell resident and Post Office employee Jim Schmidtberger, was started in the 1970s, disbanded in the 1980s, but reformed in the year 2000 better than ever. To this day, they continue to release new albums and travel the region performing their high-energy rock-n-roll music.
