United National Bank is currently a national bank regulated by the federal government. However, according to a recent press release, in the current banking environment, the bank's Board of Directors believes there are advantages to be gained from changing to a state chartered bank.
Bank President and CEO Vance Ruggels explains.
As part of the conversion to a state bank, a name change is required.
Ruggels reassures folks that the name is the only change.
It's not the first time the bank has changed its name. Originally chartered as First National Bank of Natoma in 1909, the opening of a new branch in Russell in 1991 required the name to change to United National Bank.
