Dinkel Promoted to Lieutenant

Colonel Ernest E. Garcia, Superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, has announced that Master Trooper Dennis Dinkel has been promoted to lieutenant and will oversee field troopers in the Troop D (Northwest Kansas) area.
Dinkel joined the Patrol on January 7, 2001, as a trooper I stationed in Ellis County. In 2003, his title changed to trooper. On January 13, 2008, Dinkel was promoted to master trooper. In his time with the Patrol, he has served as a Recruit Class Coach and Defensive Tactics Instructor at the Patrol's Training Academy in Salina; and he has also served as a Tactical Flight Officer, assisting the Patrol's Aircraft Operations unit. With his promotion to lieutenant, which was effective December 8, he will supervise troopers in Ellis and Russell Counties.
Dinkel is originally from Victoria. He graduated from Victoria High. He earned an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice from Barton County Community College.
