Man Arrested for an Outstanding Warrant Gets Drug Charges Added Following Traffic Stop

Drug ArrestThe Russell County Sheriff's Office says a man was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Russell County on the strength of a Norton County warrant and drug charges.

A Russell County resident called the Sheriff's Office at just after 4 PM Wednesday advising of a suspicious vehicle near 181st Street and Stickney Road.

A Sheriff's Deputy responded and located the vehicle turning eastbound on I-70 Road at 181st.

The deputy stopped the vehicle just south of Interstate 70 on 184th Street where he placed a passenger, 27-year-old Leo Cole Archibald, under arrest on the strength of a Norton County warrant for failure to appear. He was transported to the county jail.

Archibald was also arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and felony obstruction.
