Extensive discussions were held Monday at the Russell County Courthouse between the County Commissioners regarding the courthouse addition and upcoming road projects, among several other topics as well.
With a site plan approved and a floor plan nearing official approval, Commissioner Steve Boxberger says he and his colleagues talked Monday about what they want the exterior of the new addition to look like - keeping in mind that it needs to blend well with the current courthouse building, but also be practical.
Also Monday, Larry Height of the County Road and Bridge Department spoke to the Commissioners.
Boxberger says much of Height's discussion related to upcoming overlay projects for county blacktops that have been through a long winter.
During Height's time, the Commissioners also awarded a bid to White Star for the purchase of a new Bobcat skid loader that will be used by the road and bridge department and shared with courthouse and 4-H grounds maintenance.
Also in Monday to visit with the Commissioners were EMS Director Jennifer Cisneros, Russell Regional Hospital Administrator Harold Courtois and Dusti Betts of the Midway Extension District.
