County Commissioners Approve Courthouse Addition Floor Plan

Russell County Commissioners 3-17-14The Russell County Commissioners finalized and approved the floor plan and exterior and interior elevation plans for the Courthouse addition at their meeting Monday.

A site plan for additional parking was previously approved a couple months ago.

Aside from several small interior decisions yet to be made - such as carpeting, cabinetry and paint colors - Commissioner Brad Zweifel says finalizing the plans now keeps the building of the addition on schedule. If all goes as planned, they hope to break ground in August.

Zweifel says one of the main concerns he has heard from Russell County citizens is how will the exterior appearance of the new addition compare to the current building.

A couple contracts were also renewed at the meeting. The agreement between Russell and Ellsworth Counties to share the services of Emergency Manager Keith Haberer was renewed as well as County Health Nurse Paula Bitter's contract for two years.
