UPDATE: Man Electrocuted, Life Watched to Wichita

Electrocution19-year-old Drew Barber of Russell was electrocuted behind the old Catholic church in Russell and life watched to Wichita Monday morning.

Russell Police Chief Dale Weimaster says at just before 11 AM Monday, a 911 call was received for a man who had been electrocuted at 28 North Kansas.

Russell County EMS, a Russell County Sheriff's Deputy and the Russell Police Department responded.

Barber was transported to Russell Regional Hospital and later transferred by Life Watch to Saint Francis Medical Center Burn and Trauma Center in Wichita.

According to Russell City Manager Jon Quinday, Barber is an apprentice lineman for the City of Russell Electric Department. As of Monday, April 21 he remains in Wichita in serious condition.
