New York Man, Woman Arrested for Drugs

Drug ArrestA New York man and woman were arrested Monday afternoon on Interstate 70 in Russell County after initially being pulled over for speeding, but then being found to be in possession of drugs.

According to the Russell County Sheriff's Office, at 2 PM Monday, a Sheriff's Deputy conducted a traffic stop on westbound I-70 at milemarker 199 with a 2011 Hyundai registered to Rachelle Miller and driven by David Damore, both of Brookhaven, New York.

Miller and Damore were placed under arrest for possession of heroin with intent to sell, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. They were taken to the Russell County Jail.

Damore was also issued a citation for speeding 89 in a 75 and a verbal warning for no proof of insurance.
