Luray Man Injured, Life Watched to Wichita Following Rollover

Rollover AccidentA rural Luray man was seriously injured and life watched to a Wichita hospital Friday night after rolling his vehicle on US Highway 281 north of Luray in Osborne County.

According to Osborne County Undersheriff Troy Schaefer, 33-year-old Devin Mullender was southbound on 281 approximately three miles north of Luray near 280th Drive, when at around 8:45 PM, for an unknown reason, he left the roadway on the west side, overcorrected and rolled the 1999 Ford pickup into the east ditch. The pickup rolled twice before coming to rest on its wheels.

Mullender was not buckled up and was ejected from the vehicle, according to Schaefer.

Mullender sustained a broken arm, broken ribs and facial injuries. He was life watched to Wesley Medical Center where he remains, but his current condition is unknown.

Luray First Responders, Osborne County EMS and the Osborne County Sheriff's Office responded to the wreck.

Mullender's wreck happened less than 24 hours after another serious rollover on Highway 281 between Osborne and Luray.

According to the Osborne County Sheriff's Office, 19-year-old Brionna Waggle of Osborne was ejected through the windshield of her vehicle after entering the ditch and flipping three times. That wreck happened two miles south of Osborne at 11:44 PM Thursday.

Waggle was also life watched to a Wichita hospital. Her condition is unknown.

She is a senior at Osborne High School.
