Victoria Man Arrested on Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop

Drug ArrestA Victoria man was arrested in Russell early Sunday morning on drug charges after initially being pulled over for failure to stop at a stop sign.

According to the Russell Police Department, at 12:08 AM Sunday, an officer conducted a traffic stop just south of Stoppel Supply on Fossil Street with a 1996 GMC driven by Clayton J. Robben of Victoria.

Robben was placed under arrest and transported to the county jail.

He was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign, driving while suspended, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Robben was also issued a verbal warning for no seatbelt.
