RCACF Supports Natoma Community

A new fund, the Ethel A. John Fund for the Peace Lutheran Church of Natoma, has been established. Because of Ethel "Pink" John's estate gift, her church will receive an annual stream of income forever in her name.
Corinne Masters and Natoma's fifth and sixth grade students recently constructed a hoop house, thanks in part to a grant from the foundation. The class grew plants and utilized math, science and problem-solving skills. Students did the majority of the construction, giving them opportunities to read diagrams and technical instructions.
The foundation also proudly supports the arts, including this year's production of "Rock Around the Block." A grant helped USD 399 purchase scripts, rent costumes and buy materials for scenery. The show featured 20 cast members and five students helping with lighting and sound.
Thanks to generous donors, the community foundation, since inception, has returned more than $1 million to meaningful charitable causes, such as education, the arts, historical preservation and community development. They have more than 50 named funds and are proud to be the largest provider of grants and scholarships in the Russell County area.
