Russell CART Looking for Volunteers

Russell CARTThe Russell County Animal Response Team, also known as CART, is currently looking for volunteers.

The CART is a non-profit organization available for planning, prevention, protection, mobilization, response and recovery related to emergency incidents within Russell County. It is a branch of the Kansas State Animal Response Team (KS SART), which is a program that works to develop and support animal response teams across Kansas.

Russell CART President Dylan Riedel says in times of emergency, pets and other animals are sometimes forgotten. CART is in place to respond to emergencies that impact pets, livestock and wildlife; such as fires, tornadoes and crashes.

CART is equipped with numerous cages, panels and other supplies so the team can contain, transport and treat animals.

Riedel says it's easy to join.

For more information, contact Riedel via the Russell County Animal Response Team Facebook page or give him a call at 785-324-1660.
