Hachmeister Named Natoma Citizen of the Year

Herb Hachmeister Good Citizen Award 2017Herb Hachmeister of Natoma was honored as the 2017 Natoma Good Citizen of the Year on Monday, September 4 during the 80th Annual Natoma Labor Day Celebration.

Hachmeister was recognized for his volunteer community work exemplified by a willingness to help out wherever needed.

During Labor Day, his exotic animals were corralled for a free petting zoo for all ages. It was the 26th year for his unusual animals to be exhibited during the Natoma Labor Day Celebration.

Rick Dunlap (pictured at right), President of the Natoma Lions Club, presented Hachmeister with the award.

The Good Citizen Award has included Milan Masters in 2014, Natoma Volunteer EMTs in 2015 and the Natoma-Paradise-Waldo Volunteer Fire Department in 2016.

The Lions Club recognition award continues to honor citizens for their voluntary contributions to the community. The criteria for the nomination includes: long term positive performance, exceeding expectations in tasks, volunteering for difficult assignments, helping others meet goals or overcome obstacles, displaying contagious enthusiasm, encouraging people in stressful situations, requesting or accepting additional responsibilities, going above and beyond the expected performance in completing a project, keeping a calm composure under pressure, resolving a conflict, mentoring and sharing important information.
