Kansas Farm Bureau Safety Poster Program Announced

Kansas Farm BureauAdults agree child safety is an important topic; the trick is getting the kids to agree.

In an effort to reduce accidents by developing safety-minded youth, Kansas Farm Bureau has sponsored the KFB Safety Poster Program for more than 65 years.

Each year thousands of youth in grades one through six participate statewide.

Posters are judged on the county Farm Bureau level with the winning poster from each of the three age divisions submitted for judging at the state level.

"An effective safety poster displays one main idea related to Kansas agriculture with an emphasis on farm safety," said Kelly Driscoll, County Coordinator of Russell County Farm Bureau.

The theme for this year is Farm Safety First: No One Can Take Your Place!

Suggested topics include: General Health, Fire Safety, Distracted Driving, Hearing Protection and Respiratory Safety.

Pick up a poster and rules at Farm Bureau Financial Services at 315 East Wichita Ave in Russell.

Posters are due February 19.
