1A Div. 2: Wilson Girls Take Fourth

Karlie Steinle poured in 42 points and grabbed 18 rebounds in her final high school game, but it was not enough as the Wilson girls basketball team fell to Rexford-Golden Plains 77-67 in the third place game of the 1A Div. 2 State Tournament in Hays on Saturday, March 9.
The Lady Dragons trailed 34-24 at halftime and 54-36 after three quarters. Wilson scored an amazing 31 points in the fourth quarters, but could not reel in Golden Plains (22-3).
Along with Steinle's big game, Wilson's Antjelica Pfannenstiel had nine points and 16 rebounds.
Wilson hit 19 of 74 shots from the field (25.7%) and went 28 of 36 from the free throw line (77.8%). Golden Plains finished 25 of 55 from the field (45.5%) and went 23 of 34 from the foul line (67.6%).
The Lady Dragons finish the season with a 21-4 record.
