Russell Battles Tough Field at Goldsmith Relays

RHS Track and FieldThe Russell High School track team competed in the Goldsmith Relays in WaKeeney on Friday, April 26.

The RHS boys tied for 12th with 11 points.  LaCrosse won the team title with 99 points.  Holcomb was second with 80.

The RHS girls finished 13th of 14 teams with five points.  Colby won the team title with 106 points.  TMP-Marian was second with 77.

Individually for the Russell boys, Gage Nichols took third in the discus.  David Crawford finished fifth in the 300 hurdles.  Noah Gfeller was sixth in the 400 M dash.  The RHS 4x400 relay team placed fifth.

For the RHS girls, Sammy Wedel placed fifth in both the pole vault and 100 M dash and was sixth in the 200 M dash.

Russell travels to Minneapolis on Tuesday for a meet before hosting the Russell Relays on Friday.
