Broncos Drop Heartbreaker in Pratt

RHS BaseballThe Russell High School baseball team had their season come to an end after a 7-4 loss to Pratt in the first round of the Hugoton 4A Regional on Monday, May 13.

The Broncos led 4-1 after the fourth inning and looked headed towards an opening round victory after turning a triple play in the fourth.  But Russell could not hang on and end their season with an 8-13 record.

Kaden Rohr pitched five and two-thirds innings and allowed six runs, five earned, on five hits and took the loss.

Mason Beagley, Brady Dinkel and Grant Weber each had one hit.

Pratt went on to win the regional title, beating Larned 10-2 in the semifinals and Hugoton 3-2 in the championship game on Wednesday.  The Greenbacks advance to the 4A State Tournament in Salina on May 23 and 24.
