Beloit Dominates Broncos

RHS FootballThe Russell High School football team fell to 0-3 on the season after losing to Beloit 68-8 on Friday, Sept. 20 at Shaffer Field in Russell.

The Trojans (3-0 overall, 1-0 NCAA) scored nine total touchdowns - seven rushing and two passing - and racked up 553 yards of total offense. Beloit rushed for 459 yards and passed for 94.

The Trojans led 38-0 after the first quarter, 54-0 at halftime and 60-0 after three quarters. Russell scored their lone touchdown late on a 4-yard run by Reshean Holloway.

The Broncos finished with 162 yards, 144 of that on the ground, and turned the ball over three times. Grant Murphy rushed for 47 yards. Kelton Suchy ran for 42. Holloway had 23 yards.

Bowe Behymer rushed for 128 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead Beloit. Payton Vetter had 106 yards on the ground and two scores. He also passed for 55 yards and another TD. Colson Reames ran for 68 yards and scored three touchdowns.

Russell (0-3, 0-3) has now lost eight-straight and will try to end that streak on Friday when they take on Republic Co. in their homecoming game. Kickoff is at 7pm. We'll begin our pregame show a little earlier at 6:15pm on Classic Hits 95.9 and www.krsl.com.
