Broncos Fall Short of NCAA League Title

RHS BaseballThe Russell High School baseball team had their seven-game win snapped after being swept by SE-Saline on Friday, May 9 at the SES Field.

The Broncos dropped the opener 12-2 in five innings and suffered a 2-1 setback in game two.

SES pitchers held Russell to 11 hits in the doubleheader. Taylor Rome had five of those hits.

Kaden Rohr allowed five runs over 1 2/3 innings in game one and took the loss. Brandon Ridgley went the distance in game two, scattering eight hits and suffered the loss.

Russell falls to 12-6 overall and finishes second in league play with a 6-4 mark. SES wins the NCAA league title with a perfect 10-0 run through the league.

The Broncos travel to Hays on Monday to close out the regular-season against rival TMP. The doubleheader begins at 4pm at the TMP Field. Both games will be broadcast on Classic Hits 95.9 and KRSL.com.
