The Russell-Victoria Broncos Baseball team ran their winning streak to four games with a doubleheader sweep of Ellinwood by scores of 15-0 and 14-0 Tuesday at the Shaffer Field Sports Complex.

In Game one, the Broncos jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run triple by Kirk Huser who then came home on an ensuing error.  Six more runs crossed home plate in inning number two highlighted by run-scoring singles by Caden Oberle and Huser, an RBI groundout by Brooks Nichols aided by two balks and four walks issued by Eagles pitching.

After another run-scoring balk in the third inning, the Broncos tallied six more runs in the fourth inning bringing an end to the game helped by three more Ellinwood errors.  Cole Schmidtberger picked up his first win of the season tossing a complete game and allowing just two hits while striking out six.

In Game two, Russell-Victoria picked up right where they left off by exploding for 10 first inning runs while sending 12 men to the plate.  Oberle led the way with an RBI triple and and RBI double in the frame while the Eagles committed five of their eventual 10 errors.  The Broncos scored three more times in the third inning on a wild pitch, a strikeout and a throwing error.  Oberle then added a sacrifice fly to close out the scoring in the fourth.

Four Bronco pitchers limited Ellinwood to one hit over five innings while combining for seven strikeouts.  Kyle Farmer pitched a perfect first inning, then Josh Foster after giving up Ellinwood's only hit in the second inning, started an inning-ending double-play to finish his outing.  Oberle worked a scoreless third inning and Cooper Windholz got the first two outs of the fourth inning before Cooper Swanson worked the final inning and a third.

Russell-Victoria (4-2, 2-0 NCAA) is next in action on April 17 with their first road trip of the season to Minneapolis for a league doubleheader with the Lions.  First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
