At 9:20 PM on Thursday, the City of Russell Fire Department was paged to 120 Cindy Drive for a report of a vehicle on fire.

According to a press release from Fire Chief Dylan Riedel, crews arriving on scene observed a passenger vehicle sitting in the driveway, fully engulfed. Crews quickly deployed fire extinguishers to prevent the fire from spreading to two other vehicles that were sitting in the driveway.

Engine Two and Engine One arrived on scene and were able to fully extinguish the fire in 10 minutes. Crews stayed on scene cleaning up equipment and debris from the fire.

The area of origin of the fire was under the hood in the engine compartment and more than likely due to an electrical issue around the engine block.

The fire was contained to the vehicle and a few small spot fires in the grass in the front yard.
