Russell Man Dies When Struck by Vehicle

A Russell man was killed when he was struck by a vehicle while trying to upright his motorcycle on U.S. Highway 281 two miles south of Hoisington on Saturday night.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says that 46 year-old Julian H. Gonzales of Russell was standing in the roadway attempting to upright his motorcycle when he was struck by a southbound GMC pickup truck driven by 20 year old Kadie Halzle of St. John. It happened shortly before 10 pm Saturday night.
Halzle was not injured.
