As of 2 PM, Monday, October 18, Russell County has had 1,084 total positive cases of COVID-19 since tracking began, an increase of five cases since Friday, according to the Russell County Health Department.

The current active and in isolation case count is 30 with 1,024 recovered cases, 72 hospitalizations with two current inpatients, 30 deaths and 109 in quarantine.

The average age of positive tests is 37.2. The age range for October is one year old to 92 years old.

The cumulative positivity rate for last week was 17.9 percent. The cumulative positivity rate for this week is 5.8 percent. And the cumulative positivity rate for October is 16.3 percent.

There have been 36 breakthrough infections or infections after vaccination. None of the new positive cases were vaccinated.

Russell County ranks 80th out of 105 counties in the state's vaccination rate, number of COVID cases and number of tests given ranking. The breakdown shows a vaccination rate of 45 percent, ranked 82nd, average number of COVID cases at 66 per 100,000, ranked 85th, and average number of COVID tests given at 625 per 100,000, ranked 24th.
