Ellsworth Man Killed After Being Struck by Pickup

An Ellsworth man was killed early Saturday morning, July 4 in Russell County after being struck by a pickup.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol report, a 2002 Ford F150 was traveling on 195th Street and Lincoln Lane southwest of Dorrance when the passenger lost his hat out the window. The pickup came to a stop and the passenger exited the vehicle to retrieve the hat. The pickup reversed down the road and struck the man.

The passenger, 21-year-old Aiden J. Moyer, was transported to Russell Regional Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The 16-year-old driver of the pickup and two other passengers were uninjured.

The accident happened at 12:15 AM.
