Fatal Crash in Northwest Russell County
A Paradise man died in a two-vehicle crash south of Paradise in northwest Russell County on Monday morning.
According to a release from the Russell County Sheriff's Office, Russell County Communications received a report of a crash at 9:21 AM on 180th Street, approximately one mile south of Fairview Road. Emergency personnel responded to the scene and located two vehicles - a 2012 Peterbilt truck and a 2012 Ford F-350 pickup. An investigation revealed that the 2012 Ford was northbound and the 2012 Peterbilt was southbound at the time of the collision.
The driver of the 2012 Ford pickup, Ethan Dickerson, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the 2012 Peterbilt, Barry Maupin of Lucas, was transported from the scene via a personal vehicle.
The Russell County Sheriff’s Office, Russell County EMS, Russell Fire Department and Russell County Fire District 3 all responded to the location.
