KDOT Announces Approved October Bids
The Kansas Department of Transportation has announced approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects. The letting took place October 16 in Topeka.
In Osborne County, included was milling and overlay of US Highway 281 from the south city limits of Portis (State Street) north to the Smith/Osborne County line awarded to Bettis Asphalt and Construction Inc. of Topeka for $241,109.22.
Also in Osborne County, included was ultra-thin bonded asphalt surfacing of US Highway 24 from the north end of the Portland Cement Concrete Pavement at Osborne northeast to the US Highway 281/US 24 north junction, US 24 from the US 281/US 24 north junction east to the two-lane/four-lane west of Downs and US 24 from the two-lane/four-lane west of Downs east to the Osborne/Mitchell County line awarded to Bettis Asphalt and Construction Inc. of Topeka for $2,436,686.53.
And also in Osborne County, included was bridge replacement of a county bridge over a tributary to Covert Creek located one mile south and 0.7 mile west of Covert awarded to Reece Construction Company, Inc. of Salina for $456,638.86.
In Rush County, included was milling and overlay of Kansas Highway 96 from the Ness/Rush County line east to the US Highway 183/K‑96 junction awarded to Venture Corporation of Great Bend for $2,777,443.64.
