Lucas Man Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on K-18

A rural Lucas man was injured and transported to Russell Regional Hospital on January 4 following a two-vehicle crash on Kansas Highway 18 in Lucas.

According to the Russell County Sheriff's Office, at 5 PM Tuesday, a 1994 Mercury passenger car driven by 72-year-old Dennis Feil of rural Lucas was crossing K-18 at the 1st Street intersection in Lucas and pulled out in front of a 1997 Chevy pickup driven by 25-year-old Steven Ammon of Sylvan Grove that was eastbound on K-18.

The vehicles collided in the intersection.

Feil was injured and taken to the hospital. He was not buckled up at the time of the crash.

Ammon was not injured. It's unknown if he was wearing a seat belt.

A passenger in the pickup, 23-year-old Elizabeth Ammon of Sylvan Grove, was injured, but refused transport to the hospital. She was not buckled up.
