Positive News: Russell County Sees Drop in COVID-19 Cases

For the first time since early on in the COVID-19 pandemic, Russell County has reported no new cases of COVID-19 in a two day span.

Russell County Health Department Administrator Paula Bitter said in her 2 PM report on Monday there have been five new cases since Friday, but none on Sunday and Monday.

Russell County has 787 total positive cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

The current active and in isolation case count is 18 with 734 recovered cases, 53 hospitalizations with one currently hospitalized, 21 deaths and 30 in quarantine.

The cumulative positivity rate for this week is zero. The cumulative positivity rate for last week was six percent.

38.3 percent of the Russell County population has been tested.
