Prairiesta Parade Draws 160 Entries
Saturday's 2021 Prairiesta Parade drew 160 entries and thousands of people to downtown Russell.
The parade was led by a longhorn cattle drive and featured antique cars and tractors, floats, horses and covered wagons, state and local dignitaries, a fly over and much more.
Jerry and Patty Driscoll were the Grand Marshalls.
First place humorous entry was Cub Scout Pack 118. First place theme entry was the City of Russell. The best historical entry was the Russell Muzzle Loaders. And the best horse entry was Sunflower Clydesdales.
The parade finished with a staged bank robbery at Southwind Bank.
Micky Zorn was the Parade Chairperson.
