Rep. Waymaster Appointed to Build Kansas Advisory Committee

The Speaker of the House for the Kansas House of Representatives, Daniel Hawkins, announced that he has appointed Representative Troy L. Waymaster to serve on the Build Kansas Advisory Committee.

The Speaker of the House also designated Representative Waymaster to serve as Vice-Chairperson of the advisory committee.

The Build Kansas Program was specified in Senate Bill 25, the Omnibus Budget Bill, which assists local forms of government to apply and receive federal funding through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law passed by the US Congress. This program allows for local forms of government to coordinate with the state of Kansas for numerous infrastructure needs or projects. The Build Kansas Advisory Committee will review submissions and recommend the applications to the federal government for approval. Senate Bill 25 allocated $215 million to assist local forms of government with the match requirements by the federal government for the approved projects.

Representative Waymaster currently serves as the House Appropriations Chairperson and has served the 109th Kansas House since 2013, which includes the counties of Ellsworth, Lincoln, Osborne, Russell and Smith.
